WHAT IS DENTAL IMPLANT?

DENTAL IMPLANTATION STEPS IN DCT SOLUTION

Step 1: Collect data, plan treatment, produce healing trays and abutments.

First, the patient will undergo a Conebeam CT scan and dental scan, taking photos inside and outside the mouth. The collected data will be entered into Exocad software to create a treatment plan. With the ability to analyze forces, Exocad allows the doctor to accurately calculate the position and direction of the implant.

After completing the software planning process, a guide tray will be produced to accurately place the implant, avoiding damage to adjacent structures, damage to the inferior alveolar nerve canal or maxillary sinus… At the same time, the periodontal tissue is also recreated in an ideal state, and a personalized anatomical healing abutment will be produced along with the guide tray.

Guideline Surgical Guide – Ensuring Absolute Safety and Precision

To ensure high precision during the implantation process, we use specialized surgical guides. These guides are designed specifically for each patient, based on a 3D image of the jawbone, helping the doctor to orient and place the implant exactly in the desired position. This shortens the surgery time, minimizes the risk of complications, and ensures stable, long-lasting results.

Why is it important to place the implant accurately into the jawbone in implant placement?

• Reason 1: Correct implant placement will prevent complications from occurring.

In the jaw bone there are anatomical structures, for the upper jaw there is the maxillary sinus, the lower jaw has the inferior alveolar nerve canal, all of which are dangerous structures if damaged.

When placing the implant, the doctor must drill into the jawbone. If the drill is not done correctly, it can damage these structures, causing dangerous complications.

On the other hand, incorrect drilling and placement of the implant can cause the implant to deviate from the bone and drill into the adjacent tooth roots, leaving behind sequelae.

Reason 2: Correct placement of the implant will help the implant chew better, be more durable and more aesthetic.

Our tooth roots evolve in position based on the impact of daily chewing force. Each tooth root has a direction that coincides with the direction of chewing force transmission, the vertical position of the tooth root coincides with the point of maximum vertical force impact. The implant tooth root is said to be correctly placed when its position and direction coincide with the position of force impact and the direction of force transmission.

A correctly placed tooth root will help the chewing force to be transmitted to the correct axis, thereby helping the implant tooth chew better, with less bone loss and will be more durable.

Step 2: Place the Implant

Once the guide and healing abutment have been individually manufactured, the patient will be scheduled to come to the dentist for the implant surgery. Typically, the DCT implant procedure with the help of the guide will be quick and gentle, taking only about 10 minutes/abutment.

This is the second appointment, usually about 3 days (36 hours) after the first appointment.

Step 3: Place personalized healing abutment

When the healing abutment is placed, the gums will heal after 15 to 20 days, at which time the doctor will remove the healing abutment to install the prosthesis and porcelain teeth.

Step 4: Scanning the implant position, periodontal tissue

After about 2 to 4 months, when the implant has stabilized in the jawbone, the patient will return to the clinic. At this time, the doctor uses a scanning machine to record the entire jaw, periodontal tissue, bite and implant position to ensure absolute accuracy.

And in the DCT Implant procedure, manual impression taking will not be able to meet the requirements and Scanning is required. Why is that? Because DCT needs to copy details not only of the teeth, periodontal tissue but also the bite and implant position.

This is the third appointment in the dental implant process, the scan will take about 30 minutes.

Step 5: Design of personalized prosthetic abutments and porcelain teeth

Personalized anatomical prosthetic abutments, in the industry called Customized Abutments, are a type of prosthetic abutments on dental implants that are individually manufactured, according to the anatomical shape of the teeth – gums and periodontal tissue of each patient, thereby providing maximum aesthetic, functional and biological compatibility of the implant teeth, helping the implant teeth to be more aesthetic, chew better and be more durable. Customized Abutments are considered the key to the DCT personalized dental implant solution.

The personalized anatomical prosthesis has the same shape as the patient’s tooth crown, the contour structure curves along the gum line of each tooth and each person, the diameter and length are also designed for each person and each individual tooth.

Why personalize design?

First: Ability to create a biological barrier to protect the implant root below.

A good prosthesis must be able to biologically connect directly with the gum tissue, creating a barrier that prevents bacteria from the oral environment from entering the jawbone.

As you know, there are many bacteria in our mouths, and the oral cavity is also exposed to food and drinks every day. On real teeth, the reason why bacteria and these agents do not penetrate the gums, alveolar bone and surrounding tissues is because the gums adhere tightly to the tooth neck by the epithelial adhesion system and the cruciate and circular ligaments.

Currently, there are only 2 types of materials that can make the gums “stick” to them: zirconia and pure titanium. 3rd: Ability to recreate the anatomical shape of the gums around the implant

Step 7: Install the personalized prosthesis and porcelain teeth
